State Officer Candidates

Qualifications & Application

In order to run for Elected State Office a candidate must be an Active Demolay having reached the age of 16 years at the time of Election.

Qualifications for each Elected State Office are as follows:

  • A candidate for State Scribe/Treasurer must have been an elected officer of his home Chapter for at least one (1) term.
  • A candidate for State Junior Councilor must have held the office of at least Junior Councilor of his home Chapter.
  • A candidate for State Senior Councilor must have held the office of at least Senior Councilor of his home Chapter.
  • A candidate for State Master Councilor must have held the office of at least Senior Councilor of his home Chapter and been an elected officer of his home Chapter for at least two (2) terms.
  • In running for any office without the above qualifications, written approval of a candidate by the Executive Officer is a valid qualification.
  • Each potential candidate will be asked to go through an interview with members of the State Staff at Summer Splash on July 17.
